A Word from Pastor Dan

Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him and bless His name.”

I am thankful for the wonderful 20th Anniversary celebration that we held here on Sunday. It was a great day of celebration, worship and sweet fellowship. I am thankful to God for His blessings on the Fellowship at Field Store over that 20-year period. I am thankful for all of you who have been a part of this church from its beginning and the work that has been accomplished through you in this place. As Pastor I also want to thank each of you that had a part in planning and making the celebration the wonderful day that it was. I will not try to name everyone who had a part in fear of leaving someone out, but to everyone who participated and helped I thank you for your love for your Lord, His church, and His people. We looked back and celebrated God’s goodness and blessings over the past 20 years, and now we look forward to what God wants to accomplish through His church in the coming 20 years should He tarry and not return for His bride, the church.

I am also thrilled to share that we had 7 people attend our membership class on Saturday, September 15 and we have another 5 to 7 folks who have expressed an interest in attending but could not be there for the last one. We are working to get another class scheduled that will accommodate those who could not attend last Saturday.

We have some exciting things coming in the weeks and months ahead.

 First, our student ministry will be leading us in worship on Sunday, September 30th. They will be leading us in worship songs that they have chosen, Pastor Joseph will be bringing the message, and we have tentatively planned a baptism for at least one of our students that day. Again, as Pastor I am so proud and thankful for our students, Pastor Joseph and all those who are involved in this part of our ministry. I know we will all be blessed on that Sunday.

 The week of October 7 – 13 we will have a prayer emphasis. On Sunday, October 7, I will be preaching a sermon on prayer and fasting. We will look at biblical examples of fasting and what God has promised to do when we pray and fast.

 Then on Wednesday night, October 10, after our meal, we will have everyone (including our students) to come to the sanctuary and we will watch a video of Pastor Jim Cymbala (Brooklyn Tabernacle) share a message entitled “My House Shall be Called a House of Prayer”. It is an awesome and powerful message that focuses on the power of prayer.

 Ending the week on Saturday, October 13, I am asking that all members join us for a day of prayer and fasting. I know you have many questions and I will be answering those in the days to come. Tentatively, we will meet in the sanctuary at 6:00AM on that Saturday morning. We will have about 30 minutes of worship before we return to our homes to fast and pray. Members will sign up for 30 minutes shifts to be in the sanctuary praying throughout the day. We will all return to the sanctuary at 5:30 PM for 30 minutes of worship to conclude our fast.

Everyone will have a multipage prayer guide to direct us on how and what to pray for during the day. There will also be many scriptures to read and meditate on.

We will have a sign-up sheet in the foyer of the worship center for you to sign up stating your intent to participate in the fast and to sign up for a 30 minute prayer slot to pray in the sanctuary that day. Will you commit to spend 12 hours with the Lord on October 13?

Most have never done this. He wants to hear from us as a church.

Finally, when the “Experiencing God” class that meets on Wednesday nights concludes around the end of October we plan to begin a prayer meeting/bible study in the sanctuary on Wednesday evenings from 7PM to 8PM. This will be after the fellowship meal. The first part of the service will focus on prayer and our bible study will be walking through the rest of the book of Revelation starting at Chapter 4. I covered the first 3 chapters of Revelation earlier on Sunday mornings. Many have asked me if I plan to continue the Revelation series. Chapter four begins the prophecy part of “things to come”. If you are not involved in any of the children or student ministries on Wednesday evening, I encourage you to join us for prayer and an in-depth study of “end times” prophecy.

In His Service, Pastor Dan
