Day of Fasting and Prayer – Saturday, October 13, 2018

In the book of Joel, Chapter 1, verse 14 we read the following;

“Consecrate a fast, call a sacred assembly; gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the Lord your God, and cry out to the Lord.’

Then in Chapter 2, verse 19, it says:

“Yes, the Lord will answer.”

God, in all His Sovereignty, has established that when we fast and pray He is committed to hear and to answer.

Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

Our part is to pray, fast and seek His face. He will respond and when He does we may be blown away by the abundance of His blessings!

On Saturday, October 13, I am asking that all members join us for a day of prayer and fasting. I know you have many questions and I will be answering those in the days to come. Tentatively, we will meet in the sanctuary at 6:00AM on that Saturday morning. We will have about 30 minutes of worship before we return to our homes to fast and pray. Members will sign up for 30 minutes shifts to be in the sanctuary praying throughout the day. We will all return to the sanctuary at 5:30 PM for 30 minutes of worship to conclude our fast. Everyone will have a multipage prayer guide to direct us on how and what to pray for during the day. There will also be many scriptures to read and meditate on.

Will you commit to spend 12 hours with the Lord on October 13th. Most have never done this. He wants to hear from us as a church.

C.H. Spurgeon said, “Whenever God determines to do a great work, He first sets His people to pray!”

Prayer Requests

If you have a prayer request, you may submit your name and prayer request via this site (be only as specific as you want). Your particular need may be spiritual, health related, financial or for a family member or friend. We have a Prayer Chain, comprised of a group of Prayer Warriors, who pray individually as they are called, then call the next Prayer Warrior on the list and so on until the chain is complete. In a short time frame, you or your loved one has had a number of prayers said on your behalf. We would also appreciate your letting us know when our prayers have been answered. Praise prayers are an important part of our daily prayers.

This website sends all submitted prayer requests directly to the prayer chain coordinator.

Click on “Read Full Article” for the request submission form.

Update from Paul Ingold

Update from Paul Ingold, one of our foreign missionaries that visited the Fellowship a few years back. Paul said I could share his update with the Fellowship:

“I am going to India on the 4th of February (until the 25) praying, for great contacts with those who will be using the New Hindi Bible to share their faith and disciple others (mainly Hindus) . Also we will be finishing details on the translation, getting it on an app with audio also.

My wife, Nancy’s health has taken a dip — she had to go back on Prednisone, but not as serious as before. Our son Jeremy is now in the wait for a kidney transplant. Please pray for a living donor. He is also looking for work in Southern California and has decided he wants to go to CBU in the fall This is a miracle, because about 4 months ago we realized part of his learning problems were due to irlen syndrome, he has got special glasses that have helped him and boosted his confidence. Other two children Joanna and Micah are doing fine at CBU. We are set to go back to Canada April 1st.”
