MISSION TRIP 2018: Big Creek Missions-Wheelwright, Kentucky June 9-17

Right now what we need is prayer…

 for the team
 for the ministry of Big Creek,

 for the children we will be ministering to
 for those who will be blessed by the construction work our guys do.

As you pray for these pray also for yourself as to how the Lord would have you to support your 2018 Mission Trip Team. Soon we will have a list of items needed for the trip to support our team and the mission in Wheelwright.

Our next MT Team meeting is scheduled for May 20 following morning service lunch will be served, everyone going on the trip must be at this meeting.

Thank you to everyone who has been faithfully praying for this ministry. It is very encouraging to see the growth God has provided over the last year. On April 7th, the students put together a Dessert and Entertainment Night for the church family and the students’ families. It was neat to see the students using the gifts and talents God has given them to show appreciation to the church family. The students put much of the night together themselves. This provided for a very interesting night of entertainment. Another neat thing God has done is greatly increased the number of students we have going to camp. Last year. we had 4 students go to camp and this year we have 19 signed up to go. There is still one spot open for a male student. Growth in numbers is awesome but being able to see spiritual growth is even better. There have been a few times recently in the way a student answers a question or asks a question that I have seen a glimpse of how God is working inside of them and this is even more encouraging. Most of this growth is due to a church family that loves them. prays for them. and takes the time to personally invest in their lives. So, once again I say thank you. Please continue to pray. One special request is that God will provide the finances for all of the students go to camp.

Thank you!!!

Thursday, May 3, 2018, National Day of Prayer

Waller County Courthouse – hour of prayer will take place from 6pm – 7pm, by Mission Waller & Hempstead Ministerial Alliance

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for our nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Since its inception, this day has continually united Americans from all socio-economic, political, and ethnic backgrounds in prayer while also encouraging personal repentance and righteousness in the culture. The National Day of Prayer belongs to all Americans and is a day that transcends differences, bringing together citizens to celebrate our most beloved freedom; the freedom to humbly come before God and seek His guidance in prayer.

Greetings from your new Interim Pastor! Avonell and I can not express how thrilled we are to be called of God to serve as your Interim Pastor through this very important process of seeking God for the permanent Shepherd He has for you. We look forward to getting to know all of you and becoming a part of your warm fellowship. Thank you for the kindness you have already shown to us in our short time with you.

It can be a scary time for a church when they find themselves for whatever reason to be without a Pastor. In your case, being blessed with the same Pastor for some 19 years makes it even more dramatic. It is in times such as this that we have the opportunity to increase our faith and trust in our Lord. In reality, you have only lost your under shepherd as the Lord Jesus will continue to be your Shepherd.

In John 10:11 Jesus is the “good” Shepherd
In Hebrews 13:20 Jesus is the “great” Shepherd
In 1 Peter 5:4 Jesus is the “chief” Shepherd

The church is very special to our Lord. It is His bride. He loves His church so much that He died for us! He says that He will build His church and the gates of Hell can not prevail against it. Then one day He is coming back for His bride, the church. So we know that even without a permanent under shepherd, the Lord Jesus will take care of His church! We are His sheep and He is our Shepherd.

I believe God’s work for me as your Interim Pastor is to help prepare your church for your next Pastor. Let’s purpose in our hearts and pray to God that He will guide and strengthen each area of ministry at The Fellowship. Let’s pray for God’s wisdom for the Pastor Search Team and all other positions of leadership. Then let us not only pray but work to maintain the unity and health of the body. The unity of spirit is so important to not only sustain the church but to grow it during this interim period.

Our goal should remain simple:

“Tell people how to get to heaven with the good news of Jesus Christ and to help those who are on their way to enjoy the trip!”

In His Service,

Pastor Dan
