If you have a prayer request, you may submit your name and prayer request via this site (be only as specific as you want). Your particular need may be spiritual, health related, financial or for a family member or friend. We have a Prayer Chain, comprised of a group of Prayer Warriors, who pray individually as they are called, then call the next Prayer Warrior on the list and so on until the chain is complete. In a short time frame, you or your loved one has had a number of prayers said on your behalf. We would also appreciate your letting us know when our prayers have been answered. Praise prayers are an important part of our daily prayers.

This website sends all submitted prayer requests directly to the prayer chain coordinator.

Click on “Read Full Article” for the request submission form.

It has been another busy month. Most of our big plans for projects around the church were put on hold due to the hurricane. The Lord did give us a much more important opportunity to serve Him by helping several people who lost everything in the flooding. It was especially gratifying to serve with the youth. Most of them had never seen destruction of this magnitude in person much less get into the middle of it and do hard manual labor to help people they didn’t even know. It was great learning experience for them. Several of the young men in our Student Ministry also did some pretty grueling work at Ms. Freda’s house this past week cleaning up her property. What a blessing to see the joy on her face. Make no mistake; several of the young men in our Student Ministry group, are men. They are standing up as men of God and I respect them for that. They have servant hearts and they are very appreciated for their efforts and willingness to help wherever they are needed. Don’t be surprised to see them doing great things in our body in the near future. Joseph is doing such a great job with all of the students. “Connect” couldn’t be a more perfect name for our Student Ministry. What a blessing. Thank you, Jesus! As always, if you would like to lend a hand in our upcoming service projects please come see me. Darren.

Over the past few weeks, we have been studying the topic of grace in the student ministry.

We looked at how God’s grace shapes our relationship with Him, how salvation through

Christ is the fullest expression of God’s grace, and how we are called to be people whose every relationship is defined by grace.

During these next few weeks, we will be studying the topic of salvation. They will learn how God was focused on salvation from the very beginning of His interactions with humankind, how salvation is only found through faith in Christ, and what it means to show the world the richness of a life that has been redeemed.

On the activities front, we have done quite a bit. We had a great lock-in at the church. We played a lot of fun games, cooked hotdogs and s’mores over the fire, watched the movie Courageous. We also did two service projects. One in which we helped with a house that had been damaged by hurricane Harvey. The other was helping an elderly lady from the church with some yardwork she was not able to do herself. I am very grateful to all the leaders who have stepped up and helped so much with these activities. This has been a good month in the student ministry in which I and some of the other leaders have seen some real spiritual growth in the students. Thank you all so much for your continued prayer and support.

Building & Grounds

The month of August was a productive month for the Facilities & Grounds Team. Thank you to all that helped install the new nursery door, build the new railing on the classroom deck, fix some of the outdoor lighting, rearrange the shed, get the baptistery steps ready to paint, figure out the water heater in the baptistery, and prime a few of the classroom walls in preparation for the “girls painting party” that will be happening this month.

This month we are focusing on getting the sanctuary floor nice and shiny, assisting with the classroom painting, addressing more safety and security needs in and around the nursery, finishing the roof trim on the classroom building, washing A/C units, repairing the doors and ramp on the shed, painting the baptistery steps, and whatever else sounds like fun. Come see me if you would like to help out.

Thanks to all who pray for, volunteer and support the efforts of this ministry. The discipleship that myself and many others, including several of the youth, benefited from this past month has been a true blessing.

If sweating for Jesus with a hammer or a paintbrush just isn’t your thing, I encourage you to find a ministry team where you can get involved and serve the Lord with others who love Him. There’s a place for everyone to serve within the body. If we seek His will, listen to his calling, and take action accordingly, He will put us in the perfect place. I believe that the Lord has already placed several worthy, well trained, component, and committed leaders in key roles to lead the way in preparing our body to function as He wills, in a healthy and fruitful manner, that all may be for His glory for generations to come. Please continue to pray for Pastor John, our leaders, and our body as we move forward spreading the Good News as He has commanded us to do.

Amen. Darren.

Well, now that summer is coming to an end, we are starting to get back into our normal routine. Actually, with students, there is never really a normal routine but we are getting back to our lesson series The Building Blocks of Our Faith. Over the past few weeks we have been studying God’s love:

How God’s love is at the very center of His identity, how Christ’s atoning death on the cross is the most complete expression of God’s love, and how all of us who have a relationship with God are called to be known by the love we shows to others.

Over the next few weeks, we will be studying about grace. The students will learn how God’s grace shapes our relationship with Him, how salvation through Christ is the fullest expression of God’s grace, and how they are called to be someone whose every relationship is defined by grace. On a different note, the next activity we will probably be doing is a Lock-In on September 1st. I will be handing out more information to the students as it approaches.

For those of you who are faithfully praying for this ministry, please pray for the different types of adjustments the students have to make as this new school year begins. We have our new 6th grade students. Pray that we can help them to connect with the other students and help them feel they are a valuable part of the group. Several of our students are beginning their first year of High school. Pray they will begin to connect with a Godly group of friends and will be a light to those around them. There are also two of our students who have graduated. Please pray God will lead them and work through them in whatever He has next for them.
