The 2024 Men's Retreat Guest Speaker is Roy Wooten

Roy Wooten grew up in Odessa.  His claim to fame is that he was on the team that inspired the book and eventually movie, Friday Night Lights.  Roy and his wife of 35 years, Devra, are authors of the books The Secret to Lifetime Love and Life Together Forever couples retreats. He also authored Full Throttle Into Fatherhood and speaks at couples, family, men’s, and pastors’ seminars and retreats across the US and internationally.

Roy earned his B.S. and M.S. in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from Abilene Christian University. He has served as a pastor, ministry executive, coach and counselor for nonprofits and churches. His body of work in Christian relationships was recognized with an Honorary Doctorate from Grace Global Seminary in 2017.

Roy serves as the Executive Director of The Crucible Project, an international ministry igniting Christ-like change through experiences of radical honesty and grace.  He and Devra enjoy time with their two married children and a grandson.  They are active in leadership at Waller Baptist Church and live in Waller, Texas.
